Will pressure washing damage my wood deck?
Done at the right pressure, no. We use lower pressure and wider fan tips on wood to avoid raising the grain or gouging soft spots, which is a common mistake with DIY pressure washing.
Is it safe to wash composite decking?
Yes. Composite decking is generally durable but can still trap mildew in the texture. We use appropriate pressure and cleaners so the surface finish is not damaged.
Do I need to seal my deck after it is washed?
Washing alone will clean and refresh the deck, but if you plan to stain or seal it, doing that soon after washing while the wood is clean and open gives the best results.
What is deck brightening and do I need it?
Brightening is a treatment that neutralizes gray, weathered wood tone back toward its natural color. It is most useful before staining, when you want an even base color rather than staining over uneven graying.
How long should my deck dry before staining?
