Lawn care and maintenance
Routine care on a schedule, with the fertility programme built around sand rather than around a bag label.
A maintenance lawn at the shore needs a different programme from an inland one. Sand does not hold nutrients, so the same annual quantity has to arrive in more, smaller applications or most of it leaches past the roots.
Mowing height does more work than most people expect. Cutting high shades the soil, slows evaporation and encourages deeper rooting, all of which matter more on a fast-draining lot than anywhere else.

Common questions
Why do you mow higher than my last company?
Taller turf shades its own soil and roots deeper. On sand that is the single cheapest improvement available.
Do you bag clippings?
Usually not. Returned clippings are free nitrogen, and on sandy soil that matters. We bag when growth has got ahead of us.
When should the lawn be aerated?
Autumn, paired with overseeding. Spring aeration mostly opens the soil for crabgrass.
